How to permanently change your FOV

This is a guide on how to permanently change your FOV in Skyrim Special Edition.

It can be done through two unlike methods, one is a surefire method and the other may or may not work for y'all.

Starting time Method

The first method that works for everyone is by going into your SkyrimPrefs.ini file in your Documents/my games/Skyrim Special Edition then scrolling down until yous go to the [General] department of the file.

Add together in this line at the very bottom of the General department, no quotes.
"fdefaultfov=00" Make full in 00 with whatever FOV you desire, I suggest 90.

Afterward doing this save the file then go back into the same folder and open up Skyrim.ini. Go into the [Display] portion of the file and at the very lesser add in these two lines. Recall, no quotes.

"fDefaultWorldFOV=00" Employ the same value for 00 as you did for the higher up portion
"fDefault1stPersonFOV=00.0000" Use the same value yous put in before the decimal

Save the file. Don't load up the game yet. At present you must right-click on the SkyrimPrefs.ini and click "Read-but" and do the same for the Skyrim.ini file in the aforementioned folder.

READ BELOW FOR NEGATIVE

This will permanently change your FOV to exist the i yous desire but the negative to this method is you won't be able to modify your settings! You lot will non be able to change your graphics options in the launcher nor modify annihilation in the options of the game until y'all come back into the folder and brand them not "Read-but" again. Keep this in mind if something isn't changing!

Second Method

The 2nd method doesn't work for everyone and I highly suggest using the first method instead and this method has some glaring consequences.

For the second method, go into Skyrim and load upward a save. Then from at that place you want to press this button on your keyboard " ~ " or " ` " and information technology is located to the left of the i. This will open up your panel assuasive you to type in commands. From hither you want to type in "fov 00" into the console replacing 00 with whatsoever FOV you want, I advise ninety. Yous should instantly come across a divergence in how the game looks once you printing enter. Afterwards putting in this control y'all want to blazon in "saveini" into the panel and then press enter and the game should freeze for a couple of seconds as it is saving your new settings. Then yous want to save the game agian. Then exit the game and load support into the same save file.

READ BELOW FOR NEGATIVES

This method tin give your game a red tint on loading screens and on the main menu.

The FOV can likewise reset for some people when opening their maps.

Basically yous should follow the outset method to the all-time of your abilities and if all else doesn't work, effort this method.

Thank you

Thanks for reading my first guide and I hope information technology has helped you. It took a lot of work for me to become this data when trying to gear up my own FOV and I wanted to lessen the pain the rest of the community may be experiencing when trying to change their FOV. I promise you guys constitute this guide helpful, delight rate!
